Haplopelma sp minax “Big Black”-Thailand Black 1.75″ CB

The Thailand Black was one of the true enigmas of the tarantula hobby when I started back in 1990. And let me say, it hasn’t improved. Every species out of Thailand back then that was even a hint of black was called Thai Black something or another. So now, what is the Haplopelma minax called you ask? Big Black! I can’t make this up. Ugh. The mystery persists. Keep them at 78-84 with humidity of 75% and perhaps soon they’ll properly get classified back to Haplopelma minax without the sp. No matter what species or geographic variant they may be, they will bite, so hands off. Adult size is typically 6″ and I affectionately refer to them as Black Philip. Fans of The Witch get it.
