This is a beautiful North American tarantula that can vary in color based on where the parents originated. Typically, as the name states, it is a very dark color, with some striping on individuals. Most individuals I’ve encountered have been from Eastern San Diego County, and are a largely uniform black with some brown highlights on the legs. There are other geographic color variants as well. Keep them at 72-84 and humidity of 60%.
