They may be from the Goa region of India, but there is nothing lacking or lesser about these beauties. T. truculentus is an all over muted burgundy with black femurs and golden carapace. 5″ is the typical adult size, and they appreciate temps of 74-84 with humidity of 75%. They must be allowed to burrow. They will bite, but will only do so if you push the proverbial envelope. I’m quite fond of this species for their appearance, ease of care, and scarcity.
