The P. cubensis is a fave of mine due to its bright gold highlights and its take no crap attitude. The Phormictopus are legendary with the Dominican Republic and Cuba for their size and ferocity. The P. cubensis don’t get quite as large as P. cancerides or P. platus, but a 6.5″ stocky golden T is a sight to behold. It’s also impressive when it ignores it has urticating hairs and charges forward, fangs bared. They are very easy to keep, temps of 72-84 and humidity of 65%. Remember though, you have only yourself to blame if you try to handle them.
